In Halloween Horrors Keen must save Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus, who have been captured. For it's Halloween, he wears a nice [[Vorticon]] costume. In order to do so, he has to overcome evil Halloween enemies and travel thorugh scary places.

"It was around 7.30 on October the 31st and darkness was descending fast over Madison, Wisconsin. In each house children prepared for the most fun night of the year, while adults prepared for the least fun night of the year. The Blaze household was no different. The youngest kid, a girl, was eagerly putting on a witch's costume. The oldest, a teenage boy, had already headed across town with his pockets stuffed with bangers, rockets and sparklers.

The middle child, Billy, was equally anticipant of the night. He had it allocated as a night free from world-saving duties. He was donning a vorticon outfit. He had just put the vorticon head on when suddenely his photachyon tranceiver rang.

"Drat Hello?" 
"Umm, Hello Commander Keen" 
"Oh, its you. This had better be to say Happy Halloween!" 
"Uuuh, Happy Halloween? ... and, um...." 
"Yes?" 
"Well... me and the other holiday personifications are being held hostage in the halloween sector of the holiday world of Phestiv by a shadowy figure!"

Hi, I'm Keenfan.

The first time I was playing Commander Keen was 15 years ago. And I still enjoy plaing these masterpieces.
Recently I discovered the small Keen community on the internet. Then I discovered Ceilicks incredible mod "The Keys of Krodacia". The great times from long ago suddenly went back on my computer. Since then, I play Keen mods from time to time to relax.
On this great Wiki I'll help completing the articles about user mods.

The unfinished mod Armageddon 2: Pluto Burns was the first of three parts of a planned triology. However, even the first episode wasn't finished. It's unclear if there will be a complete version. 
In this mod, Keen travels to the planet Pluto, that is set burning by some Shikadis. He has to stop them in order to save the planet and its inhabitans.

* Graphics: The graphics were partly redrawn, partly recoloured and partly unchanged.
* Levels: 8 levels with an icy atmosphere

== Story ==

In this episode, Keen decides to explore Pluto. Keen wants to find some proof
that Pluto is not a planet, but a stray moon from Jupiter. While on the planet,
keen befriends one of the locals; a plYorp (A Plutarian breed of Yorps). The plYorp
despertly tries to get keen to follow him. Keen finnally follows, and is awstruck by
what he is show:

Pluto Was Ablaze!

Keen, still shock, and have compleatly forgotton about his little project, tried to
figure out what had set the fire. There was not sufficient oxygen to allow for a
fire; something was causing oxygen to enter pluto atmosphere. The plYorp took
keen back to his ship, and showed him a city: Keen went to the city, and found
a firey breed of Shikadi walking around, setting fire to all the ice and rocks. When
they had melted the ice, they pulled up the metal-rich rocks from the ground, and
carryed them to their ships. Then, they'd hammer the metal into sheet metal, and
would make ship parts. Keen slid over, and took a brief look at the blueprints.
With what Shikadian he knew, he read the blue and discovered something which
made his heart stop:

"Armaggedon II - Solar Demolition Project"

Keen had just discovered an attemp to destroy the universe. In the main blueprint,
he saw how the sun's explosion would cause a chain reaction, which would, in turn,
obliterate the universe. Keen had to stop them.

Keen was given a P-87, a super compact water pistol which was popular amoung
plYorps and froze on contact, and an anti slip pogo for use on icy terrian.

His Mission:

Keen must find, and capture 4 Oxigen Genorators, and stop this opporation cold. If
he fails; The Universe is Toast. The heat is on!

CGA Keen is an abandoned [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_Graphics_Adapter CGA] mod of [[Keen 1]]. Only some graphics were patched and only 2 levels are "done". The second one has no exit and is unsolvable. The colours look very weird.

* Graphics: Few graphics were changed in CGA, Keen is not fully redrawn, the Title Screen is not done.
* Levels: 2 levels, both feature some nice gameplay ideas, the second one has no exit.

There are quite a number of unfinished and abandoned beta mods in this list of mods. I suppose a category unfinished mods would help to make thing a bit tidier. In "Retrosis - The Universe's Toes" you play an eyeball that can pogo. The mod features beautiful and bizarre graphics in fresh colours. The current version was released in March 2010 and is a work in progress presentation. It has an impressive gameplay and an inetresting level design. Not all graphics are done and there are some bugs at the moment but the game plays very well. There are 9 levels to complete. The mod uses switches and has a great patch for a shooting replacement that allows you to duck.

In "Retrosis - The Universe's Toes" you play an eyeball that can pogo. The mod features beautiful and bizarre graphics in fresh colours. The current version was released in March 2010 and is a work in progress presentation. It has an impressive gameplay and an inetresting level design. Not all graphics are done and there are some bugs at the moment but the game plays very well. There are 9 levels to complete. The mod uses switches and has a great patch for a shooting replacement that allows you to duck.

In "Retrosis - The Universe's Toes" you play an eyeball that can pogo. The mod features beautiful and bizarre graphics in fresh colours. The current version was released in March 2010 and is a work in progress presentation. Not all graphics are done and there are some gameplay bugs at the moment but the game plays very well. There are 9 levels to complete. The mod uses switches and has a great patch for a shooting replacement that allows you to duck.

Clouds Unseen is humorous black and white mod of a high artistic level. It features 11 levels, one of them is a coulored secret level. There are no references left to Commander Keen in this mod. You play as "Character", the protagonist of this game, searching for 4 souvenirs that will remind him of his crazy journey. But that's not easy: A lot of enemies and hazards are getting in his way...
The level design is rather difficult and features some very advanced jumps, so the author Stupid Bunny decided to release an easy version as well (you can find both the easy and the normal version in the .zip file).

== Technical Information ==

* Graphics: All graphics from the original game were redrawn.
* Levels: 11 levels, one of them is a coloured secret level.

== Story ==

Basically, the story is about "Character" who has to find 4 souvenirs on his journey.
Although there's no "real" storyline in this mod, the story entry in the menu is worth reading. It's very funny and well written and gives you a good laugh before you start the game.

== Items ==

The point items are replaced by card game motives like Spate, Heart and so on. The most precious item is a star.
The [[Pogo stick]] was replaced by a sack, hidden in the secret level.
The 4 treasure items are not otherwise specified.

== Verdant version ==

Soon after the first version of the mod was released, a "verdant version" was uploaded by Stupid Bunny as well. Its only difference is that the background was changed from white to green to give it a Gameboy-like look. Clouds Unseen is humorous black and white mod of a high artistic level. It features 11 levels, one of them is a coulored secret level. There are no references left to Commander Keen in this mod. You play as "Character", the protagonist of this game, searching for 4 souvenirs that will remind him of his crazy journey. But that's not easy: A lot of enemies and hazards are getting in his way...
The level design is rather difficult and features some very advanced jumps, so the author Stupid Bunny decided to release an easy version as well (you can find both the easy and the normal version in the .zip file).

Basically, the story is about "Character" who has to find 4 souvenirs on his journey.
Although there's no "real" storyline in this mod, the story entry in the menu is worth reading. It's very funny and well written and gives you a good laugh before you start the game.

The point items are replaced by card game motives like Spate, Heart and so on. The most precious item is a star.
The [[Pogo stick]] was replaced by a sack, hidden in the secret level.
The 4 treasure items are not otherwise specified.

== Verdant version ==

Soon after the first version of the mod was released, a "verdant version" was uploaded by Stupid Bunny as well. Its only difference is that the background was changed from white to green to give it a Gameboy-like look. In the modding tools section of the main page, it is stated: "Other (Keen Dreams, non-Keen engines)", but we are all pretty sure Keen Dreams engine and Keen: Galaxy engine are almost the same! Both share the EGAGRAPH and GAMEMAPS format, and the game engine technology such as goplats (minecart in KDR seems to be one), poles, hanging onto ledges, etc. So, in my opinion, the K: Modding tools classification should be fixed as this needs to be discussed before breaking all existing links. Some use the computer/Japanese format om YYYY-mm-dd or yy-mm-dd, some use the American mm-dd-YYYY or mm-dd-yy or MMMM dd YYYY and some use the international dd-mm-yy. == Non-game articles ==

So far, we generally create articles on the official games, all their creatures and objects, the mods (and the creatures from there as well), the fangames, and the level packs. But what about non-game articles? For example, there is an article on [[Blegd and Smeeg]], but Commander Keen: The Comic Strip is nowhere mentioned. Also, there is not any page but a user page that would link to Blegd and Smeeg, since we don't have lists of fan creations besides game-related ones and [[Keen Remixes|remixes]] (actually there is [[Other Fan-Made Creations|a list]], but with only ''one'' entry). Furthermore, we have articles on the [[Public Commander Keen Forum]], [[Cerebral Cortex 314]], [[PlanetCK]], but, as far as I know, not about any other website. And what about the Shadowlands animated series (briefly mentioned in [[Foot]]) and Too Much Spare Time's cartoons and comics? And should those non-game characters also have articles (Blegd, Smeeg, King Lick and Duke Mushroom are surely not less worthy than the Mod Monsters)? Last but not least, there are articles on a few community members, such as [[Levellord]] and [[Andrew Durdin]], but in most cases, there are links to user pages or there isn't a (working) link at all. Most users haven't created a user page, and probably never will do so, regardless whether there is a link to it or not. Is there any policy on non-game fan creation articles? : In most cases, those pages don't exist simply because nobody has created them yet. If you have the time then by all means start creating them. Personally I don't think Mod Monsters warrant pages of their own, but as the names usually don't conflict with official ones it doesn't really do any harm. For characters like Blegd, you probably wouldn't create an page on its own unless you had a lot to say that wasn't relevant to [[Blegd and Smeeg]], in most cases creating a redirect would be enough. Given the 'vanity' of pages for people I prefer to link to their userpage if one exists, especially as this gives people a way to contact that person (via the wiki's e-mail feature.) Some users have dedicated pages because they do not have userpages on the wiki. A mod of [[Keen 3: Keen must die!]]. It features 3 short but rather difficult levels. In order to complete them the player must show very good jumping skills. Like Ally's Mod I and II, most of the structures and hazards were changed to one-colored or flashing blocks. There is only one type of enemy and it's round and bouncing around, based on the red ball in Keen 3, but it's deadly to touch. The last of the three levels is a heavily edited version of Mortimers [[Mangling Machine]] where the player has to shoot a lock. The ending sequence was edited as well.
