VortiNinjas have been trained well in martial arts and are able to perform giant leaps. They are specially trained by [[the Grand Intellect]] to be the land-based defenses of the planet. They are considered the deadliest fighting force in the galaxy, and they take no prisoners. They can be usually found in the forts and military training centres of Vorticon VI, most notably [[Cape Canavorta]] which is likely their training facility.

VortiNinjas only move by jumping around. When out in open space, they can jump extremely high and very rapidly, making them difficult to shoot and to avoid. This however creates a notable weakness: they are vulnerable when they are in the middle of a narrow passage, as there is little vertical space to jump. Even though their movement is greatly constricted when in enclosed spaces, they can still move very rapidly. They require four shots to be killed.

Unusually, blood can be seen on the VortiNinja when it is killed.

These facts make it likely that the level is some kind of exhaust system for the ions coming from the main thruster.

Its layout is fairly simple, so the player can get used to regular enemies and hazards, in this case they are mostly [[Little Ampton]]s and [[Sparky|Sparkies]]. The player starts at the bottom of the level and must find the exit at the top, which looks like a regular security door that is already open, so there is no need for a [[Keycard (Omegamatic)|keycard]] before exiting the level.

The level's difficulty probably comes from the fact that it is supposed to guard the central part of the [[Omegamatic]] against intruders, as the name implies. This is the first level to feature a closed security door that requires a [[Keycard (Omegamatic)|keycard]].

==Walkthrough==
You begin by running left toward a yellow pole between two vertically moving [[Slicestar]]s. Slide down this pole. To your right, there is a hidden passage with extra points. Run back out and keep going until you encounter a second pole. This pole leads up to a platform upon which you will find a switch. This switch opens a bridge further on.

Drop down off the platform, being aware of the [[Sparky]] below. Run further left until you reach a third pole. Climb up this pole. Upon reaching the top, jump off to the right. There is a [[keygem|red key]]. Hop up onto the platform to the right. Keep running until you reach a break which leads to another platform. Hop over to this other platform (do not drop down), keeping aware of the sparky and [[Little Ampton]] there. Run to the red keyholder, then climb up the pole immediately to your left. (On hard, watch out for the [[Keen 5 Hazards|laser]] on the ceiling.) Jump into the opened room, which holds a blue key.

Return to the place where you found the red key. Spring up and to the left onto the green platform. Jump up to the pole above. Hop off onto the nearby slanted ledge, then run to the blue keyholder. Continue right until you reach the two holes in the ground. Jump up onto the first platform to pass over. Ride it off to the left, being careful not to hit any of the [[Keen 5 Hazards|fire helices]] along its path. You should reach a ledge on the far left of the room. Jump onto this ledge. Run into the room on the ledge. Grab the keycard. (On hard, try and jump over the horizontally moving Slicestar.)

Dopefish

Dopefish are large, stupid fish that inhabit the Waters of The [[Shadowlands]] of [[Gnosticus IV]].

The in-game help text states: ''The second-dumbest creature in the universe, this creature's thought patterns go "swim swim hungry, swim swim hungry." They'll eat anything alive and moving near them, though they prefer heroes.''

== Physiology and Behaviour ==

The Dopefish is an incredibly stupid large green fish that slowly swims the waters within the [[Well of Wishes]]. It is a dark green color with small fins and enormous buck teeth. It lunges and bites whenever it comes near Commander Keen or a [[Schoolfish]], and then promptly burps... it does not, however, harm or attempt to harm the [[Sprite|Sprites]] or [[Council Member]] who can also be found in the well. Additionally, it does not interact with the [[Keen 4 Hazards|Underwater Mines]].

== Dangers ==

These immense fish can swallow Commander Keen in one bite, which of course kills him. Keen can however safely come into contact with the Dopefish when it is not attempting to take a bite. As such, it is possible to swim past a Dopefish after it has just devoured a schoolfish, as it will pause for several seconds for a satisfied burp.

Clouds Unseen is humorous black and white mod of a high artistic level. It features 11 levels, one of them is a colored secret level. There are no references left to Commander Keen in this mod. You play as "Character", the protagonist of this game, searching for 4 souvenirs that will remind him of his crazy journey. But that's not easy: A lot of enemies and hazards are getting in his way...
The level design is rather difficult and features some very advanced jumps, so the author StupidBunny decided to release an easy version as well (you can find both the easy and the normal version in the .zip file).

* Graphics: All graphics from the original game were redrawn.
* Levels: 11 levels, one of them is a coloured secret level.

== Story ==

Basically, the story is about "Character" who has to find 4 souvenirs on his journey.
Although there's no "real" storyline in this mod, the story entry in the menu is worth reading. It's very funny and well written and gives you a good laugh before you start the game.

== Items ==

The point items are replaced by card game motifs, such as Spades, Hearts and so on. The most valuable item is a star.
The [[Pogo stick]] was replaced by a sack, hidden in the secret level.
The 4 treasure items are not otherwise specified.

== Verdant version ==

Soon after the first version of the mod was released, a "verdant version" was uploaded by StupidBunny as well. Its only difference is that the background was changed from white to green to give it a Gameboy-like look. In the mod, Keen must repel an alien invasion being led by a mysterious human known only as Bobrick. These aliens, the Ziraxi, are described as "a race of inordinately evil aliens from planet Fascisticus VII". The gameplay takes place in a single level, the "Bobrick Tower" the mod is named after, which for a single level is very long. The height of the tower is exaggerated, with the tower being made to appear to reach into space.

In the mod, Keen must repel an alien invasion being led by a mysterious human known only as Bobrick. These aliens, the Ziraxi, are described as "a race of inordinately evil aliens from planet Fascisticus VII". The gameplay takes place in a single level, the "Bobrick Tower" the mod is named after, which for a single level is very long. The height of the tower is exaggerated, with the tower being made to appear to reach into space.

Because the score resets upon death, the highest attainable score in the mod is 120,000 points.

My real-life name isn't actually StupidBunny...believe it or not. That I will keep secret for absolutely no reason. I am an avid fan of classic games, Commander Keen in particular, and in fact rarely play any game made after the mid-90s. I also love drawing and level design, and have made levels and mods for both Commander Keen and Doom. (I think that's it so far.) I could tell you much else about myself but, since this is a Keen Wiki, anything non-game-related really doesn't need to be said. :P

In the modding tools section of the main page, it is stated: "Other (Keen Dreams, non-Keen engines)", but we are all pretty sure Keen Dreams engine and Keen: Galaxy engine are almost the same! Both share the EGAGRAPH and GAMEMAPS format, and the game engine technology such as goplats (minecart in KDR seems to be one), poles, hanging onto ledges, etc. So, in my opinion, the K: Modding tools classification should be fixed as this needs to be discussed before breaking all existing links. So far, we generally create articles on the official games, all their creatures and objects, the mods (and the creatures from there as well), the fangames, and the level packs. : In most cases, those pages don't exist simply because nobody has created them yet. If you have the time then by all means start creating them. Personally I don't think Mod Monsters warrant pages of their own, but as the names usually don't conflict with official ones it doesn't really do any harm. For characters like Blegd, you probably wouldn't create an page on its own unless you had a lot to say that wasn't relevant to [[Blegd and Smeeg]], in most cases creating a redirect would be enough. Commander Keen: [[A New Dope]] is a [[Keen 3]] mod by [[User:KeenRush|KeenRush]]. In the mod Keen's IQ is reduced by mysterious aliens and he has to get his IQ points back to [[314]]. The game finishes once he has collected the required points. Although the author derided the mod in its own text, it was largely well-received as a unique and clever work, although considered to be extremely difficult. The mod was released on the [[Keen Day]] of 2007.

It's a nice summer day. Billy has no school since he has summer holiday. He has done plenty of adventuring lately in the outer space. He's glad he can relax a bit after saving the Universe several times during the past couple of months.

Billy had felt asleep while trying to read a comic book. His dad had bought it for him. He would have rather read some good book instead, but he had read all he currently had and hadn't had any time to pick some new ones from the local library.
A noise signal interrupted the dream.

"Commander Keen? Can you hear me?"
The voice sounded really old.
Billy jumped up from his chair and rushed to Photachyon Transceiver.
"Billy here. I can hear you, the transmission works, at least some way."
"Great! Are you busy?"
"Nope. Nice to hear about you, bearded one. There must be some purpose for this sudden contact. What is it?"
"Not very good I'm afraid."
Then a silence that naturally felt really long time...
"Commander Keen, we need your help once again. Gnosticus IV is in a great danger."

Keen jumped in to Bean-with-Bacon Megarocket and headed towards Gnosticus IV. There he met the Ancients that he had helped more than one time...
Keen was told that a mysterious space ship had asked the Council to give them the Oracle or they would wipe out the entire planet. The situation is entirely unknown. The Council or even the Oracle has no idea who owns the mysterious space ship or why would they want to take the Oracle with them. The Ancients had refused. The space ship is now ready to destroy Gnosticus IV.

"So, you don't have any clue about this? Mortimer's not behind this?"
"We don't think so."
"No sweat... Hmmm, I'd better take a look -- and fast."
"Good luck, Capt... Commander Keen!"

Keen set the coordinates towards the strange ship. He noticed that he had forgot to take any extra stunner shots. The stunner had 99 shots.
"I hope that's enough. Or else things get really ugly."
The ship really looked strange at the distance. In few seconds he'd start landing...

Keen landed. He looked around a bit. Everything looked green in a strange way.
Green as a furious garg, Keen tought.

[[Bloogwaters Crossing]] is the first level in [[Keen 6]]. It is among the most linear levels in Commander Keen, with all movement restricted to moving right, not counting climbing trees for points.

There are few hazards in the level. Apart from the few Bloogs in the level, the most prominent danger is the frequent hops over water that Keen must perform. (Interestingly, it is the only level in Keen 6 where water can be found.) There is also a small bed of spikes, and a lone babobba on hard difficulty. The Blooglets in the level generally do not pose much of a threat as they are not usually near hazards in this level.

At the very beginning, there is a [[Queen Viva]] in the sky. It can be reached by a moving platform, however the only way to get onto the platform lies at the end of the level (so the player must work their way through the level to the third tree from the end, wait for the platform, then ride it back to the start to collect the Viva.) A less traditional way to reach it is to [[Impossible Bullet Trick|"impossible bullet"]] up to it, however this is considered cheating by most people.

There is a secret compartment in the wall across the gap right before the switch.

What purpose it and the other Dome of Darkness serve are unknown; given the structure of the Second Dome of Darkness, it may be a kind of unorthodox Bloog city.

It is possible to climb the black lining of the dome, which can be used to access a well-hidden secret elevator shaft on the right side of the level; if Keen can jump off the side of the dome and find the hidden shaft, it is possible to take a lift up to a tunnel that runs along the top of the level. '''The Bloogdome''' is one of three mysterious "dome" levels on [[Fribbulus Xax]]. It is quite different from the other two, however. The Bloogdome is a black dome-shaped building covered in large steel spikes. The entrance is graced with a flashing red hand, implying that there are hazards but nothing necessary to completing the game. The dome serves no known purpose, but is the only place where [[Nospike]]s are found. It is possible that the dome is meant to serve as a habitat to the Nospikes, but that would not explain the name of the level.

Although the Bloogdome is walled mostly with the blue metal plating seen in the guard post levels, all the floors are the brown and purple soil seen over Fribbulus Xax. There is also a large underground area which bears the strange purple organic texture commonly seen underground. This underground area contains nothing necessary to complete the level, but has a lot of points, as well as beds of spikes. Much of the rest of the level is not needed to finish it. For the most part, these extra areas are not too far out of the way (the underground being an exception), although they tend to be hazardous.

An interesting bug in the Bloogdome is that Keen can climb into the gray area surrounding the dome. This serves no practical purpose and will leave Keen stuck inside without the jump cheat activated, but makes for an interesting trick.

'''Bloogton Manufacturing''' is the sixth level in Commander Keen 6. It is one of the two factory levels on Fribbulus Xax, the other being [[Bloogfoods, Inc.]] It isn't clear what is made in the factory, though given the generic name of the company it is likely that it is a general-purpose manufacturing plant. The building itself is adorned with the letters "BMI" in SGA, which almost certainly stands for Bloogton Manufacturing, Incorporated. Completing the level provides access to the [[Bloogton Tower]], which holds the [[Bloogstar Rocket Passcard]]. Because of this, the level is required to complete the game.

The level layout is rather unusual, as it contains considerable open space with lots of platforms suspended in it, meaning that a lot of pogoing and jumping is required to get around. The lower third of the level is a very large open area with some slanted platforms and a conveyor belt, as well as a room with the green gem and two crushers. The bottom of the level has two acid pools--one on each side--one of which holds the yellow key to the exit.

The middle third of the level sits over a long incline which is patrolled by a lone blooguard. There are several rooms and ledges on the right side of this area, with numerous small slanted platforms over the left. The top third is dominated by three circular chambers, each of which contains a switch controlling a platform and (in hard mode) a [[babobba]]. Not all of these switches are necessarily required to finish the level, although they do make it much easier.

The level contains relatively few hazards, and the greatest dangers come from the Blooguards which, while few, are in strategic locations which make dispatching them more difficult.

Mangling Machine

The [[Mangling Machine]] is a huge robot that appears in the last level of [[Keen 3]]. [[Keen]] has to destroy it to beat the game. There are two [[Meep]]s inside the machine singing at Keen from time to time. The robot takes totally seven shots; once Keen shoots the six sparks Mangling Machine's arms get destroyed, leaving space open for a shot at the heart. Once the machine's heart is shot it is destroyed.

In the center of the Mangling Machine, there are two pairs of "M" letters in [[Standard Galactic Alphabet]]. They may stand for "Mangling Machine", repeated twice; or maybe for "Mortimer McMire's Mangling Machine".

'''Bloogton Manufacturing''' is the sixth level in Commander Keen 6. It is one of the two factory levels on Fribbulus Xax, the other being [[Bloogfoods, Inc.]] It isn't clear what is made in the factory, though given the generic name of the company it is likely that it is a general-purpose manufacturing plant. The building itself is adorned with the letters "BMI" in SGA, which almost certainly stands for Bloogton Manufacturing, Incorporated. Completing the level provides access to the [[Bloogton Tower]], which holds the [[Bloogstar Rocket Passcard.]] Because of this, the level is required to complete the game.

The level layout is rather unusual, as it contains considerable open space with lots of platforms suspended in it, meaning that a lot of pogoing and jumping is required to get around. The lower third of the level is a very large open area with some slanted platforms and a conveyor belt, as well as a room with the green gem and two crushers. The bottom of the level has two acid pools--one on each side--one of which holds the yellow key to the exit.

The middle third of the level sits over a long incline which is patrolled by a lone blooguard. There are several rooms and ledges on the right side of this area, with numerous small slanted platforms over the left. The top third is dominated by three circular chambers, each of which contains a switch controlling a platform and (in hard mode) a [[babobba]]. Not all of these switches are necessarily required to finish the level, although they do make it much easier.

The level contains relatively few hazards, and the greatest dangers come from the Blooguards which, while few, are in strategic locations which make dispatching them more difficult.

Martians

[[Martians]] (the native inhabitants of [[Mars]]) are quite varied.

Not much is known about the Martians' history. It seems that the dominat race was the vicious, aggressive [[Garg]]s, which had enslaved the extremely friendly, one-eyed [[Yorp]]s. According to the [[Keen 1 Story|Keen 1 story]], all the Martians were ruled by a despotic King, who was probably a particularly intelligent Garg.

Under the rule of his King, the Martians were able to create a highly advanced culture. They built roads, towns, [[Keen 1 Levels|cities]], and shrines. They even invented teleporters for long distance travel. Though the Yorps were probably good servants for some tasks, the Martians built robots for menial work and guard duties. They created the [[Butler Robot]]s, probably for jobs such as cleaning and cooking. They also built the [[Guard Robot]]s, to guard and protect the Martian cities and treasures. Martians also seem to have developed [[Raygun|raygun]]s, though it is not clear how they use them, as the guns appear to need a hand to hold them, and Martians do not possess that kind of extremities. They also seem to have technology to send telephathic messages, which can be seen in the messages stored in statues found inside several of the Martian shrines.

At some point in their history, the Martians developed the ability to travel through space. They contacted other sentient races of the Milky Way galaxy, and learnt the [[Standard Galactic Alphabet]]. Apparently their King established that alphabet as the only writing system in Mars, as no other kind has been found (it may be possible that the Martians didn't have writing previous to this).

The Martians also started visiting [[Earth]], probably at some moment in the Earthen XX century. For some reason, they started to develop some sort of religion around Earth objects, specially around human toys. They travelled to Earth to steal hula hoops, skateboards, [[Teddy Bear|teddy bear]]s and [[pogo stick]]s, all of them seen as holy objects. In particular, the pogo stick seems to be the most holy of them all: there is a special shrine, the [[Pogo Shrine]], dedicated to the toy. They also seem to like Earth food: [[Lollipop|lollipop]]s, [[Soda|soda can]]s and [[Pizza|pizza slices]] can be found in Martian cities. This is most likely a result of the traditional diet of Martians which, while unknown, is probably rather sparse given the arid nature of Mars.

In recent years, the Martian civilization has fell into turmoil. In July 20, 1976 (Earth time), the [[Wikipedia:Viking 1|Viking 1 lander]] arrived to Mars. It was a spacecraft sent by Earth humans to explore the Martian surface. Unfortunately, the ship landed on top of the Martian King, killing him instantly. The Gargs got very angry and fell into disarray, and the Yorps were able to free themselves. Since them, it seems that all Martian cities have become independent, and there is no central authority whatsoever. Robots seem to keep doing their chores, Yorps jump around just being happy, and Gargs run amok trying to vent their anger into anyone they can find.

A few years ago, a group of [[Vorticons]] arrived to Mars and established an outpost. It is not clear how the Martians reacted to their arrival, but they seem to live in a relative stability. Because so few Vorticons arrived on Mars, their impact on the lives of the Martians was minimal. In fact, with the exception of the Vorticon Commander's fortress, the Vorticons did not establish any new bases, but rather moved into local cities. Following the destruction of the Vorticon mothership, the outpost on Mars was abandoned. No attempts have yet been made by the current Vorticon leadership to reestablish a presence on Mars, so the limited signs of Vorticon settlement will probably be left to slow decay, or possibly be inhabited by Martians.

[[Capital City]] is the fourth level in [[Keen 1]]. It contains the second [[Vorticon Guard]] in the game. Despite the name, it is not very big or complex, but it is a long and horizontally oriented level. It requires [[Keen]] to get a yellow and a red [[keycard]] in order to get to the end. It also features a strange pedestal at its entrance, and is the only level to feature yellow blocks along with the blue and red ones.

It seems that there is no way to get the upper and left-most [[lollipop]] on the level's entrance.

There are relatively few hazards in the level. There is only one Garg and one Vorticon, as well as several pat-pats guarding the red key. As is generally the case in Keen 1, the [[Vorticon Guard|Vorticon]] can be easily surpassed; it is possible to trick the Vorticon into running off of the right edge of the level.
