FlappyVort orginated as a small April Fools joke game in this PCKF thread back in 2014 by Roobar. But it turns out it wasn’t a joke — it was a real game! The 2014 version was very simple. It featured only one playable character and one theme, without any menus or anything more complicated or special. It was fairly well received. As the browsers were advancing, it became unplayable and eventually abandoned.
But several years later, FlappyVort got a new release.
This 2026 new release changed almost the entire game. It features:
- new characters to choose from
- new animations
- new sounds
- new backgrounds
- new pipes
- new grounds
- added music
- added ability to randomize all of these
- added difficulty settings
- now works on mobile browsers too
- plays with mouse, keyboard or touchscreen
- hi-score tables for both difficulties
