Flect
Flect (from the root word reflect) are bipedal yellowish beings that live in enclosed spaces on Fribbulus Xax.
They are notable for their large and very polished front teeth. With these they attract prey by means of the reflection; intrigued by it creatures will approach the Flect to be consumed. It survives only on smaller creatures however as its large teeth make consuming anything larger than a tennis ball difficult. Flects are very strong and will simply push their way past any object, using their teeth as a battering ram. It is not wise to attack the front of a Flect with any type of light or energy based weapon, as this will cause rebounding of weapon fire back toward the owner. To stun these guys simply jump over them and shoot down on their heads.
They are described in the Keen 6 manual as follows:
These yellow fellows have big teeth, but their bite isn't the problem! Watch where you shoot when these guys are around. |
Appearance in Keen GBC
The Flect also appear in Keen GBC, though somewhat changed. They are orange and rush about pointlessly (apparently because they are terminally worried). Instead of teeth, they have a reflective plate on their chest and their hair is made out of tentacles. They are less intelligent but harder to kill. They appear to be a subspecies of the normal Flect.
The game manual describes them as the following:
The Flect is always in a hurry, and has nowhere to go. This terminally worried creature has tentacles for hair and a reflective plate on its chest. It's best to be sneaky when dealing with a Flect. |
