Talk:Commander Keen in the Earth's Chaos
Thoughts on the Music section?
What do you think about the "Music" section I added a while ago? Does it look good? I thought of using that as a template for other fangames that are entirely composed of MIDI arrangements of existing songs, such as Commander Keen 2000, so I'd like to know if it seems alright. I think it's a good way to acknowledge the people who made those MIDI files (most fangames don't credit them, they usually just credit the website).
I used the filenames from the source because I can't find any MIDI files of the Mambo Snake theme that are just called "snake" (making its origins seem mysterious). I used question marks for the other two Bobby Prince MIDI files because the names are too long for The Games Factory to display (they cut themselves off with ellipses). I got the lengths by opening the MIDI files with Anvil Studio, which is why the Hyrule theme is listed as nine minutes even though Windows Media Player can only play the first four minutes before stopping (it's only a single track playing afterwards). VGMusic doesn't list who made the MIDI version of the SMRPG boss theme, but I got the name from the MIDI's contents (it's in a track name). The two MIDIs that have no sequencer listed appear to have no credits, neither in VGMusic nor the file's contents. Quinton (talk) 08:10, 16 February 2024 (GMT)
- Looks good to me! We need a similar music table for Real Keen. One song in particular from that has always struck my curiosity, 37.MID. This song was also used in a few levels of Super Mario PC, an old Mario fangame (I think I saw you posted a review of it on MFGG a few years ago, so you probably know what I'm talking about). 14.MID sounds similar enough that it's very likely from the same source. I'd love to find out where these are from. Pandakeen (talk) 23:31, 16 February 2024 (GMT)
