I've uploaded copies of the two vgmix songs, since that site seems to have all but disappeared... -- Malvineous 05:43, 1 August 2009 (GMT)
Thanks! --DHeadshot 15:02, 12 August 2009 (GMT)

Keen Commander Nostalgy '96

Keen Commander Nostalgy '96 is a remix of multiple songs, not just "Too Hot". -- DHeadshot 11:55, 14 June 2010 (GMT)

I don't see you editing the article to fix that :-P -- Malvineous 14:11, 11 July 2010 (GMT)

Do these count as remixes?

For an August 2007 competition at Dwelling of Duels, there were two entries based on Wednesday on the Beach. Do those count as remixes? Or at least one of them? --Grandy02 (talk) 16:09, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

The same question applies to TMST's polka take on "Kick In The Pants" from 2001 (MIDI file). --Grandy02 (talk) 10:36, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

I'd categorize both takes coming from dwelling of duels as interpretations of the original songs.
TMST's kickkeen.midi on the other hand does sound like a decent remix to me.

Okay, added the MIDI file. --Grandy02 (talk) 16:32, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Would this count:
Title Artist Release date Length Based on Download(s) Notes
Commander Keen IV - Welcome to a Kick in Yore Pants RigorMortis999 2018-11-12 1:46 Welcome to a Kick In Yore Pants In Good Ole Hillville! Unavailable
-- DHeadshot (talk) 17:53, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
I wouldn't call it a remix. RigorMortis999 obviously interprets the notes / sheet music of the original arrangement.

Further Keen remixes discovered

Quick note to my future me / every other active KeenWiki editor: TheBigV alias Melodic Spaceship created even more well made Commander Keen remixes. They can be found on this YouTube channel and/or on the authors homepage. -- Nisaba (talk) 07:35, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

Are you talking about the 8-bit/NES covers? They're pretty cool, but I don't think they'd be allowed here since they're just mere conversions of Bobby Prince's MIDI files. Unless you want to remove that rule, but I'd start a debate over that first since it could open the gate for way more remixes (and I really mean way more). Quinton (talk) 07:49, 31 August 2023 (GMT)
My website doesn't even list the NES covers because I don't consider them to be high-effort enough to be notable, so I don't really think they need to be added here either. Krile Jazz is probably more notable though, but I don't know how you'd handle remixes of mod soundtracks. TheBigV (talk) 01:27, 1 September 2023 (GMT)
@Quinton, I guess you are right. I was so enchanted by the quality of the tunes that I had "forgotten" our rules about it.
