Talk:Omnispeak

The messages in Keen1 give the impression that Omnispeak is a telepathic language (protocol?), so there are not necessarily actual words. This would make it unlike any human language, but similar to the language of the Timelords in Doctor Who --DHeadshot 12:08, 14 July 2009 (GMT)
- OK, I've had a little more thought over this. What if the reason SGA appears to us as English, rather than Omnispeak is that it is in fact Omnispeak, but because Omnispeak is telepathic, it is heard by everyone in their own language. Therefore, in print, the only way to reflect this is to have something approaching Psychic Paper, where the wording appears to everyone in their native written language, but in SGA. Obviously the game can't model this, so it assumes that everyone reading it has a native language of English (perhaps because Keen's is?). -- DHeadshot 23:21, 14 October 2009 (GMT)
- That sounds like a good theory. However, unless there appear more Keen games, and they address this issue, we can't prove it. But it seems to fit with stuff in the game, and it is a nice explanation on why the signs are in English.
- Btw, why did you get the impression that it is a telephatic protocol? Because of the shrines and the statues there?--Sega381 00:28, 15 October 2009 (GMT)
- Yup, the "You hear a voice in your head saying..." - It seems to make sense. -- DHeadshot 00:31, 15 October 2009 (GMT)
- This is probably something best discussed over at the PCKF - these talk pages are supposed to be for discussing issues with the article itself ;-) -- Malvineous 09:56, 16 October 2009 (GMT)
