Talk:Pogo Shrine

I don't think that this level is required to complete the game: isn't the only place a pogo is actually needed the Vorticon Commander's Castle? (I remember someone saying this once.) And it has its own pogo. CK Guy 19:58, 1 November 2007 (GMT)
- Yup, this is true. I just played through Keen 1 not using pogo at all until the last level. If you have the pogo going into it, you only need the pogo for one jump in it--because you can jump to skip over the whole black area below with the butler bots, fires, gargs, teddy bears, etc. But if you go in without the pogo, you'll need the pogo to get up out of that black area below. Either that or you could kill yourself, restart the level with the pogo, make the jump to skip over the black area below, and use the pogo only once the entire game to jump up onto the two little blue cans on the way up to the vorticon commander. I'm not sure is this is comprehensible (and it's definitely slightly obsessive), but the final word is that, no the pogo shrine is not necessary to complete the game. -- CK Guy 17:18, 3 November 2007 (GMT)
- Great discovery. I guess I have never had enough patience to discover it by myself. But judging by the Keen 1 Level Competition, it seems you are not the only one to have found out the fact already. I guess I could play Keen 1 next time resisting the temptation to pick up the pogo, and then go play Keen Dreams without cheating. :P --Shadow Master 15:27, 5 November 2007 (GMT)
