Talk:The Perilous Pit

It says in the description for The Perilous Pit that it is not possible to get the 2 lifewater flasks without dying. This is inaccurate.

As most Keen players know, when you pogo towards a ledge and put away your pogostick as you reach it, Keen will grab onto the ledge and pull himself up. The same applies here. There is secret ledge at the top left corner of the secret area. The f10+Y cheat will reveal this. When you use the impossible pogo trick to jump up to the secret area to get the 2 lifewater flasks, put away your pogostick and Keen will grab that secret ledge and climb up through the ceiling and onto the ground above instead of falling down onto the Mad Mushroom and dying.

I intend to delete the sentence that says collecting the 2 lifewater flasks is not possible without dying. -- previously unsigned comment by Syllypryde, 11:09, 30 November 2008.

Very good correction, thanks! --Sega381 17:41, 1 December 2008 (GMT)

You are welcome. I was not sure how many Keen fans knew of this trick, but I felt it should be corrected. I did attempt to record a demo and upload it here to show how it was possible not to die, but for some strange reason, two-button firing was automatically activated when I was recording. Most Keen fans are aware that two-button firing makes the impossible pogo trick (IPT) very difficult. Since timing is very crucial to be able to pogo over the Mad Mushroom I made literally dozens of attempts to do the IPT, but I could not make it work, so I abandoned recording the demo.

For some reason, the image on the world map of this level has always looked to me like a beehive. Any idea what it's meant to be? -- DHeadshot 08:49, 2 December 2009 (GMT)

The deep pit, of course. It also looked strange to me for many years (I thought it was a some kind of doghouse), but one day I finally realized that it is the pit. ;-) --Grandy02 15:02, 2 December 2009 (GMT)
Strange, isnt it, how your mind does that. :P -- Draik 06:48, 4 December 2009 (GMT)
Wow! I've never looked at it like that before! -- DHeadshot 15:02, 6 December 2009 (GMT)
