Mod images

Hi Tulip - thanks for uploading all the level images for the mods! If it's not too much trouble, are you able to grab a screenshot of the title page as well, to stick at the top of the page? (like Bazooka Wowbagger for example.) Not all mod pages have title shots yet, so it'd be great to get these in as well. -- Malvineous 21:59, 15 October 2008 (GMT)

Sure, no problem.
Great, thanks! Just some housekeeping too - when you edit pages, please put a meaningful summary in the edit field - it doesn't have to be long, just a couple of words to let us know what you changed - otherwise when we look at the list of recent changes we can't see what has been changed. Also when you write a comment on these talk pages, please "sign" your comment with ~~~~, which gets replaced with your name and the time you left the comment. Thanks! -- Malvineous 21:40, 16 October 2008 (GMT)
OK, I'll do that, thanks for telling me, I'm still new to all that Wiki stuff. Tulip 23:54, 16 October 2008 (GMT)

Levelpack category

Hello Tulip, I agree with the request on levelpack categories you made here. By the way, are you the person I think you are? ;-) --Grandy02 20:57, 21 March 2009 (GMT)

How do you mean? Who do you think I am? I'm the same Tulip on PCKF, Keenmodding and CKFS Celle Forum. Tulip 00:32, 22 March 2009 (GMT)
Ah I just read the other discussion, and I'm not herc. I was really thinking about how I could know you, because I'm also from Germany. Tulip 11:21, 22 March 2009 (GMT)
Oh, sorry, I thought you are herc because you wrote in the PCKF you had an XT with Hercules graphics and often played The Game of Robot. The same goes for herc who is on the Game of Robot forums, here he told about himself. It was just coincidence. ;-) But you already know that Game of Robot still "lives"? --Grandy02 13:18, 22 March 2009 (GMT)
Just for curiosity, did you know about Game of Robot's ongoing development (an almost finished Windows port and someday an editor)? Are you still interested in these games? --Grandy02 20:29, 28 March 2009 (GMT)
I had a look at that forum after you told me. I never finished any of these games, I was too stupid I think, but I might keep track of your developments. Tulip 01:34, 29 March 2009 (GMT)
Aha. Don't worry, I finished part I and II in 2003 and 2005, respectively, and still have to finish III and IV, while I first played these games (and Keen, of course) around 1996. ;-) If you need help, you might take a look at the info booklets. Er, but what do you mean with "your developments"? Aside from beta testing, I don't take part in the development. Andreas Tofahrn (called "autofahrn" in the forum), one of the original game authors keeps it going. --Grandy02 21:01, 29 March 2009 (GMT)

Deleting content

Hi Tulip - when you upload new copies of files, please avoid deleting the old revisions. The history is important if anyone wants to look back to see what was done previously. For example in the case of Image:Title_XkyKeen3.png it looks like it was uploaded by you, but in fact it was originally uploaded by Shadow Master and you later uploaded a correction. Because the original revision was deleted, it looks like you're trying to steal credit for it. Deleting files should only ever be used for housekeeping, e.g. if a file was actually uploaded twice under different names. Please also remember to put in a reason for your corrected upload - e.g. instead of "Episode Dash Title Screen", put something like "Changed resolution to 320x200" as that is what has been changed since the old revision. You should edit the page after the upload to put in the "Episode Dash Title Screen" commment, which appears in a different place on the page. Thanks! -- Malvineous 03:18, 3 October 2009 (GMT)

I see, I didn't mean to take credit for Shadow's work, I only thought the old file would take up useless space on your server. The resolution change was needed, because the old resolution didn't fit in the Infobox (and thumb 320px didn't work either). Tulip 16:37, 3 October 2009 (GMT)
No problem. The server's hosting plan includes unlimited disk space, so that won't be an issue ;-) And sure it's fine to upload new revisions, as long as we can see why! -- Malvineous 23:26, 3 October 2009 (GMT)

Categorising images

Hi Tulip - thanks again for all the effort you're putting in documenting the various mods. Could I also ask, when you upload images, to add a category to the image summary? Take a look at File:ShamLevel01.png for an example - if you edit that page, that's the content you can paste into the summary field when uploading. It will help keep all the images organised. Don't worry about updating the images you have already uploaded, I can do them in bulk, but it would be great if you could include the categories/description in any new images you upload. Thanks, and keep up the good work! :-) -- Malvineous 01:07, 11 April 2010 (GMT)

Can do. I hope I get you, but I'm supposed to make a new category for each mod, right? Tulip 11:26, 11 April 2010 (GMT)
Yeah that's what I did, so that each mod's images can be grouped together. Of course if you have any better ideas then by all means... -- Malvineous 13:07, 11 April 2010 (GMT)

Changing front page and sidebar

Hello! Seeing as you're an administrator, I was wondering if you could change the front page and sidebar to include the link for the List of fan-games page directly, as it is a lot more comprehensive than the category pages that are currently linked (in the same way that it links to the lists of Vorticon and Galaxy mods, rather than to the category pages). On the front page "full list of fan-made games" should go to that article, and on the sidebar, the "completed fan-made games" link should go there, I think. Snortimer 08:25, 23 March 2011 (GMT)

I dunno how to change the sidebar, but I can edit the main page, and you're right about the link. Changed it right away. Tulip 13:01, 23 March 2011 (GMT)
