A Sprite in Keen 4
A Sprite is a small white dog-like creature found in the underwater level of Keen 4. It shoots horizontally shortly after you have passed by it (assuming you pass by it quickly enough.)
The official description states:

Dopefish won't mess with these problematic underwater creatures: they shoot energy blasts at you! |
However it is possible to persuade a Dopefish to venture too close to a Sprite — unfortunately, nothing surprising happens, the Sprite's fireball simply passes behind the Dopefish. Perhaps this simply means the Dopefish know better than to try eating a Sprite. Or maybe the Dopefish are immune to the charges. Or maybe the Sprites are poor shots.
