Isn't there a version somewhere that doesn't have the .exe? I thought I saw one somewhere. It would be nice if we had a link to it. -Stealthy71088 March 25, 2007 3:25 (GMT)
- Who knows, but I don't remember seeing such. --KeenRush 11:02, 22 March 2007 (GMT)
- Couldn't the .exe file be removed from the .zip file hosted? I replaced the .exe with the one from my copy of Keen 2, and the mod works fine. It doesn't even need to be used with UNLZEXE. You just gotta make sure that your .exe goes into the Files folder after downloading. Quinton (talk) 06:48, 30 August 2023 (GMT)
- Do I understand this correctly that the question asked here is to remove the *.exe file from the download package? If that is what needs to be done, I can certainly take care of it.
- EDIT: Just to make sure: we are talking about the "KEEN2.EXE" executable, and not about the "dunepatch.EXE" or the "Menu.exe" files, right?!

- Yeah, I should've clarified that it's "KEEN2.EXE" that I'm talking about. I assume that's what Stealthy and KeenRush are talking about as well; the page for this mod even points out the "KEEN2.EXE" file being included illegally. I'm actually kinda surprised that no one bothered to remove the file for so long, when it's been publicly stated since 2007 that it's included. If we remove the .exe file, I think we should add a note somewhere that "KEEN2.EXE" needs to be added to the "Files" folder, whether it's in ShadowKeen2's page, or in a new, easily-noticeable *.txt file added to the download package.
