Use of cats
I'm not sure on how to better use this kind of cats. We have a "Creature" cat, and a "Keen 1 creatures" subcat. The logical thing for me to do (which I started doing, but halted to ask for opinions), is to categorize a creature only in the "Keen 1 creatures" cat, as it is in itself a subcat of Creature. There is no need to include it in both cats, as it would be redundant. However, including it in both allows one to see all the creatures at once, without regarding which games they are from. I'm not sure on which way to go. Ideas?--Sega381 17:33, 6 September 2010 (GMT)
- Oh, and I think it would be good to rename this cat to "Harmless creatures" or something like that. The current name is not enough to understand what it means, and can lead to confusion. Same with "enemies", should be "Harmful creatures", to avoid using the in-wiki definition of "enemy" and "creature", which is very arbitrary.--Sega381 18:19, 7 September 2010 (GMT)
Mod Creatures
I feel like mod creatures (like the Scarab) should no tbe found on this page, since it is linked from the front page as all episodes, not mods included... If anyone agrees, I can take care of it... GARGapplesauce 22:33, 5 February 2011 (GMT)
- Yes, this category is meant for creatures in the official episodes only. There is Category:Mod Monsters for non-official creatures. -- Malvineous 01:04, 6 February 2011 (GMT)
Update status of category pages
- I have a problem with category pages like this. The question is, why are they never up to date, and how to update them? This page for example doesn't show the Yorp page, while it's clearly marked with this category. Categories like "Need Pictures" are even worse. Pages still show there that have long since gotten rid of that categorization. Tulip (talk) 22:50, 29 November 2013 (GMT)
- Yorp isn't a member of this category? It's a member of Category:Keen 1 creatures. The categories typically don't update immediately (otherwise the page would take too long to save) but a few updates are done each time someone visits any page on the wiki. So it might take up to an hour for a big edit to update across the whole wiki. Some of the templates still include a page in "Need pictures", typically if the infobox is missing an image. If there's one that is showing in that category and it shouldn't be, let me know on my userpage and I'll investigate. -- Malvineous (talk) 08:10, 1 December 2013 (GMT)
