Mura is an abandoned Keen 1 mod by Nospike. Its development was started in 2016 and a one-level beta was released in March 2021 alongside Botafloria. Although it was thought to be scrapped in the initial release, Nospike eventually returned to the project. In December 2024, Nospike announced that Mura went back to the abandoned state and released a four-level beta.

The mod's story and setting are completely disconnected from the Keen universe, with a creepy and mysterious atmosphere complemented by abstract black-and-white graphics. The protagonist, Tikk, differs from Keen in that she lacks the pogo, but can crawl through passages that are one tile high. She also has slightly different physics.

In Halloween 2023, Levellass released Prelude, a Keen 1 mod that's very heavily based on Mura.

Story

Thump, thump.

Tikk's little heart is beating wildly.

Darkness envelops her like a foul mist. Are there monsters within it? Maybe. She does not know.

The ruins feel like home. A strangely familiar atmosphere that makes her feel welcome. It's clearly where she's supposed to be. Even despite the blackness. She can't remember how she got there. The memory has slipped her mind.

Those echoes in the distance? It's probably nothing.

She feels a sudden compelling to investigate. Her legs begin to move as if someone else ordered them to. Fear's shady tendrils emerge and paralyze her mind as she gives in without thought, racing down a dark hallway.

The supernatural force does not relent. Her control wanes as her body is no longer her own. She would cry, but she cannot.

Tikk feels strangely exposed.
