Reef is the last level in The Keys of Krodacia. This level is one of two underwater levels in the game. The other is Shoal. Instead of his trusty Pogo stick and his Neural Stunner, Keen is wearing his Wetsuit in order to breathe and swim underwater to collect points and find the seventh and final key to the Universal Toaster Canon. His quest will not be necessarily easy because Squiddly eats points throughout the level and Ogobogo patrols around looking for 8-year-old heroes to eat. There are also a few hazards to avoid in this level such as inground flame projectors and holes in the sea walls that shot projectiles at Keen. These two hazards can only be found in this level.
Miscellaneous info
- There are 7 Squiddlies in the Reef. Thanks to the level's design and behavior (underwater, Keen moves much slower, cannot stun them, the Squiddlies' starting point, etc.), they easily outmatch Keen and steal thousands of points.
- With 108,700 points, the Reef would be highest pointing level in The Keys of Krodacia (according to the level map). That includes 30 Krodacian Sodas, 46 Blue Peppermints, 23 Chocolate Bars, 14 Sugar Cubes, 13 Burgers and 9 Strawberry Jellos (3,000 + 9,200 + 11,500 + 14,000 + 26,000 + 45,000 = 108,700). Due to the aforementioned problems, it's impossible to collect these all. There are no gems in here, but two 1-UPs are available if Keen's fast enough.
- It's very unlikely that it could be done by cheating either. The only way to perfectly complete this level is by removing the Squiddlies or incapacitate them by patching.
