Fly without cheating?

Is this bug really possible to do without cheating? I tried the steps, but Keen wouldn't fly. He does fly up for a bit when using god mode, but that's cheating! (I did notice that after shooting in midair, you'll hear the sound normally used for falling off of platforms, which happens in Keen 1 and 2 as well. Should this be considered as a bug?) Yes, I've managed on numerous occasions to trigger it. However it should be noted that this is more of a 'double jump' rather than flying.You can get a small 'kick' if you shoot at the right time, letting you jump just a little higher than normal.(It happens because Keen goes to standing after shooting, if you press jump on this frame Keen will jump off of nothing.) Would a video be helpful? Also I believe it applies to Keen 1 and 2 as well.

A plain dosbox video capture recording would be of help indeed. I could convert it into an animation .gif file and upload it to the wiki.

Yeah, a video would be great. I've just recently tried, but to no luck even after numerous attempts. I even slowed it down enough so that Keen's standing sprite would be clearly visible after shooting midair, and I still can't pull it off! From some research I did, it looks like this bug was documented as far as back as at least 2003: https://legacy.3drealms.com/faq/keenfaq199.txt
