New Vorticon is the fifth level (in the official numbering) in Keen 3. It is an optional level, located in the New Vorticon Island, in the Main area. This level is protecting a teleporter that goes to the Teleporter Plains area of the New Vorticon Island.
This level is part of one of the two optional paths to finish the game: the player can complete either Lower Vortiville and this level in one path; or just Valden Park in the other path. After that, the only remaining required levels are those in the Island of the Grand Intellect.
New Vorticon is the biggest Vorticon city in the planet. This level, though called New Vorticon, is probably only the downtown part of the city, which spreads through the whole New Vorticon island. This level consists of four apartment buildings, three of which are fairly large, and one of which includes a pool on its roof. New Vorticon also has a park, called Central Park, and a big subway, which oddly enough has only parked aircars and no trains (though it can be assumed that the aircars represent the trains that operate in the subway). Vorticon Grunts, Vorticon Women and Youths populate the city. However, unlike Vortiville, where natural wildlife such as Foobs and Meeps can be found, New Vorticon is urban enough to support only Vorticon life. The population is estimated at 40 Vorticons, the highest Vorticon concentration on Vorticon VI, or at least those were the figures before Keen visited the city.
This level (and probably the whole island) is based on Earth's New York, which also has its own Central Park.
